THE CULMINATING POINT, or A Sand Dune Too Far Warmaster Scenario by Rick Wynn Inspired by the 40th anniversary of El Alamein 2000 points of Chaos (Afrika Korps) and 3000 points of Orcs (Italians) are all that is left of a grand invasion designed to loot Khemria of arcane artifacts (Chaos goal) and tons of gold (Orcs). The invaders are starving and short of water; -1 to all command rolls except for Chaos Knights (who appropriate whatever's left to themselves). The rational thing to do would be to retreat, but who associates reason with Chaos? Khorne says slay or die, so forward they go. Terrain: The salt sea to the north, impassable Qatara depression to the south. Between them, a 4000 point Undead army waits. Much of its front is protected by scorpion pits and stony ruins - defended terrain - with a second line of defended terrain behind. The invaders have one day (6-8 turns) to break the Tomb Kings force; if not, the undead receive 2000 points of reinforcements (invaders get _nothing_), and launch the counterattack the next day. Then its a question of whether any of the invaders survive to return to the north.
