The gifs found in these directories are ship templates for man o'war cards.

They are meant to be printed at 220 dpi. When printed at that density, they
print out poker card size (2.5" by 3.5"). 

They can then be placed in those little deck protector sleeves (or better
yet, those plastic card sheets you can get from your local game store for
about 25 cents a piece). Then you can use grease pencils or dry erase
markers to add notes and mark damage.

As for printing, I'd use some image editor (like ImageMagick's montage)
to concatenate 9 of them together (tile 3x3) so you save paper. You could
even just print out your order of battle and mark directly on the paper if
you're so inclined.
